Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Tex., said he doesn’t think “the lord Jesus himself” could manage the House Republican Conference as they went home for a long weekend after failing to make advancements in budget negotiations to avoid a government shutdown. Nehls comments came during an interview with NBC News, which reported similar remarks from other House Republicans. “We’re still dealing with the same divisions we always have had,” one anonymous Republican said. “We’re ungovernable.”
