Trump Jurors May Be Asked About Safety Concerns

The Messenger reports:

Special Counsel Jack Smith on Tuesday cited security concerns and Donald Trump’s recent social media activity as reasons to get prospective Washington, D.C., jurors to fill out a written questionnaire ahead of the jury selection process for the former president’s upcoming March 2024 trial.

The 11-page motion filed Tuesday from Smith’s office centers around their 2020 election interference case against Trump, which charges the former president with four federal felonies including conspiracy to defraud the government.

“Given that the defendant—after apparently reviewing opposition research on court staff—chose to use social media to publicly attack a court staffer, there is cause for concern about what he may do with social media research on potential jurors in this case,” Smith’s prosecutors wrote in their own motion.
