Nutbag Cultist To Seek Retiring Rep’s House Seat

Phoenix’s NBC affiliate reports:

Republican Abe Hamadeh will be running for a U.S. House of Representatives seat, the failed Attorney General candidate announced on X Tuesday evening. In his X post, Hamadeh said he is going into the race with support from “key Trump allies including Ambassador Ric Grenell and Kari Lake.”

The announcement comes after news that Congresswoman Debbie Lesko will not be seeking reelection. Lesko currently serves as the representative of Arizona’s 8th congressional district which includes suburbs north and west of Phoenix.

In 2022, Hamadeh lost the Arizona Attorney General’s race to Democrat Kris Mayes. Hamadeh filed a lawsuit in an attempt to have the election overturned following his loss to Mayes.

In other Hamadeh news from yesterday:

Abe Hamadeh has been ordered to pay more than $42,000 in legal fees to Kris Mayes in his unsuccessful effort to convince the Arizona Supreme Court to overturn the results of the attorney general’s race.

In a new order Tuesday, Chief Justice Robert Brutinel said the award is appropriate because Hamadeh had “misrepresented” to the justices that he had sought a final — and appeal-able — order from Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen, who had ruled the GOP contender had not proven he had outpolled Mayes in the November general election and then denied him a new trial to present more evidence.

And Brutinel said there was no reason for Hamadeh to even file any pleadings with the state’s high court as all the claims he made that Jantzen erred in his decisions could have been presented to the state Court of Appeals.
