Newly-elected Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Sunday said a standalone bill for Israel aid will come to the House floor this week, in an indication that President Biden’s request for aid to Ukraine will be further delayed.
“We’re going to move a stand-alone Israel funding bill this week in the House. I know our colleagues, our Republican colleagues in the Senate, have a similar measure,” Johnson said in an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”
“We believe that that is a pressing and urgent need. There are lots of things going on around the world that we have to address,” he continued.

House Republicans are pro-Ukraine aid, 117-104. Which is 104 too many on the wrong side. Still – a majority of the majority are committed to keeping faith with a democracy under fire by the Russian dictator. Will the new Speaker dare over-rule? https://t.co/nxy2vVCyft
