NBC News reports:
“Donald Trump had said this week that he never asked you to disregard the Constitution and that he never said that you were too honest. Either of those things true?” NBC News host Chuck Todd asked during a Meet the Press interview on Sunday.
“Well, look, you could check his tweets,” Pence replied. “I mean, the president was quite clear and quite public that he thought that I had the authority to either reject or return votes to the states.”
According to a bombshell third indictment released earlier this month by Special Counsel Jack Smith, Trump told Pence “you’re too honest” when he said he had no power to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
