Via email from hate group leader Brian Brown:
The conventional wisdom in politics is that the Republican party supports conservative social issues and the Democrat party does not. If only that were true, America would be in better shape than it is.
The sad truth is that we have been betrayed many times by Republican politicians who claim to be with us while running for office, but when it comes to actually delivering with their votes, it’s “thanks for nothing.” They vote with the Democrats.
The failure of Republican politicians to fight for our issues and push back against the Democrats is one of the reasons that NOM has launched The NOT Campaign.
This historic campaign will reassert the truth about marriage, life and gender to the American people through aggressive billboard and digital advertising, challenging the narrative of leftist and LGBT groups – and many Republican politicians.
We need immediate help to fund this campaign. In fact, as I outline more fully below, we’re facing an emergency to move forward while opportunities are available to us. Soon, many of the advertising opportunities we’ve identified will be lost.
Please help us keep this critical effort on track by making an emergency donation today. Thanks to some generous friends, whatever amount you decide to contribute will be matched dollar for dollar.
Think back to a few months ago when the misnamed “Respect for Marriage Act” passed Congress late last year and was signed into law by President Biden.
It actually is the DisRespect For Marriage Act because it forces every state to recognize gay ‘marriages’ performed in other states even when their own state constitution defines marriage solely as the union of one man and one woman.
Every Democrat voted for this bill, but it was Republicans who delivered the votes needed to pass this dastardly legislation that turns its back on over 50 million voters in three dozen states who voted for traditional marriage. 47 Republicans in the House and 12 Republicans in the Senate voted for this monstrosity.
Not only that, but Republican Senators like Thom Tillis and Mitt Romney were the architects of the legislative strategy that enacted the legislation in lame duck session after the 2022 midterm elections.
Some Republicans aren’t done messing with marriage yet. In California, there is a strong move afoot by leaders of the California Republican Party to abandon traditional marriage in their state party platform. They are encouraging the GOP faithful to endorse gay ‘marriage’ to show that they are “inclusive.” They also want to embrace abortion.
Think about the stupidity of this idea: The California Constitution (thanks to the passage of Prop 8) protects and preserves traditional marriage, but the GOP platform is supposed to abandon it. And these geniuses wonder why they lose so many elections in California!
As important and promising as this campaign is – thousands of people have told us they want to participate and work with us – we’re already facing a financial emergency.
We’ve identified numerous billboard locations in towns and cities across the country and have preliminary agreements to advertise in these locations. However, we’ve not been able to execute contracts yet because we don’t have the funds in hand to pay for them.
Now we are hearing that we could lose many of these advertising opportunities unless we are able to make purchases in the next few days.
