Ohio Abortion Rights Measure Qualifies For Ballot

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports:

It’s official: Ohioans will vote on abortion access this November. A proposed amendment to enshrine abortion protections in the state constitution submitted enough valid signatures to make the November ballot, the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office announced Tuesday.

That means Ohio will be the only state in the nation voting on reproductive rights this year. The proposed amendment would ensure Ohioans have a right to make their own reproductive decisions, including contraception, fertility treatment, continuing a pregnancy, miscarriage treatment and abortion.

A recent Suffolk University/USA TODAY Network poll found 57.6% of likely Ohio voters support the proposed reproductive rights amendment; 32.4% oppose it and 10% were undecided.
