Syracuse.com reports:
U.S. Rep. Brandon Williams has been admitted to a Washington hospital to be treated for complications related to heart bypass surgery he had two weeks ago in Syracuse, a spokesperson said Wednesday.
“A complication has arisen that requires immediate treatment and will prevent the congressman from fulfilling his House duties for the remainder of the week,” Taylor Weyeneth said in a statement.
Williams, 56, a first-term Republican, was elected to represent the 22nd Congressional District in November. The district spans all of Onondaga, Madison and Oneida counties and the southeastern tip of Oswego County.

Williams won his seat in November in a squeaker, defeating Democrat Francis Conole by 1%. The seat became open due to the retirement of GOP Rep. John Katko. Restricting had shuffled several upstate New York congressional districts.
Praying for my friend and colleague @RepWilliams. Join me in wishing him a full and speedy recovery. https://t.co/KuMSvJYCYk
