Special Counsel Subpoenas Dozens In Docs Probe

Bloomberg News reports:

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office in recent weeks has issued federal grand jury subpoenas out of southern Florida to multiple witnesses linked to the classified documents probe involving former President Donald Trump, according to two people familiar with the investigative steps. One witness is expected to testify this week before a grand jury in Florida, the people said, and at least one additional witness already has appeared.

NBC News reports:

About two dozen Secret Service agents have been subpoenaed or have appeared before a federal grand jury in Washington that’s looking into former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents. The sources said prosecutors have interviewed agents assigned to Trump’s security detail at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, about 24 of whom have been asked to testify before the grand jury. All complied, the sources said.

The Guardian reports:

Trump aide Taylor Budowich is scheduled to testify before the Florida grand jury on Wednesda and questioning is expected to be led by Jay Bratt, the justice department’s counterintelligence chief detailed to the special counsel Jack Smith, who is leading the investigation. The involvement of Bratt could suggest the questioning could focus on potential Espionage Act violations, particularly whether Trump showed off national security documents to people at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
