ABC News reports:
Former Navy SEAL Officer and current CEO of Bridger Aerospace, Tim Sheehy, has announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in Montana. Via email: “Jon Tester has been in office for nearly a quarter of a century and he’s lost sight of our Montana values. He’s supporting Biden and Schumer’s liberal agenda 91% of the time and that has brought us record high inflation, a disastrous deficit, skyrocketing energy prices, open borders, and drag queen story time on our military bases.”
CNN reports:
Sheehy gives GOP leaders a prized recruit in a marquee race. His entrance into the race will be a major test for the GOP, who plan to be heavily involved in primaries to boost their preferred candidates, a sharp departure from the hands-off posture of last cycle.
It also sets up a potential primary clash with a hard-right Republican, Rep. Matt Rosendale, a member of the House Freedom Caucus who has taken steps towards a run. Rosendale lost to Tester six years ago. Tester, who represents a deep-red state, is considered one of the most vulnerable Democrats of the cycle.
Sheehy claims he became a Navy SEAL because of 9/11, which happened when he was 15 years old. Clips from 9/11 open his “God and Country” campaign ad below.
