Far-Right French Party Secretly Worked With Kremlin

After a six-month inquiry and more than 50 hearings, the cross-party parliamentary inquiry found that the National Rally (Rassemblement national or RN) party had served as a “communication channel” for Russian power.

The text, due to be published next week, was adopted on Thursday by eleven votes to five – to the dismay of the inquiry’s chair and instigator, RN lawmaker Jean-Philippe Tanguy, who promptly dismissed the process as a “farce”.

The vote came just days after party leader Marine Le Pen [photo] was grilled by members of the investigation, swearing under oath that she had no ties to the Kremlin while also reiterating her support for Moscow’s takeover of Crimea – which she referred to as a “reattachment”. RELATED: Le Pen’s niece, Marion Le Pen, was hired by Steve Bannon in 2016 as part of Breitbart‘s expansion into France and Germany. In October 2016, she headlined a massive anti-gay rally in Paris organized by the anti-LGBT hate group La Manif Pour Tous. In 2017, the younger Le Pen vowed that same-sex marriage would be “demolished” once her aunt won the presidency. Marine Le Pen lost her third attempt at the presidency last year.
