Congress Minutes reports:
The Republican Party of Texas voted overwhelmingly over the weekend to censure Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) for a number of positions they said went against the party. The vote was 57-5 with one abstention.
The votes at issue? He voted in favor of a bill protecting the right to same-sex and interracial marriage. His support for a modest gun control measure last Congress following the mass killing of 21 people at an elementary school in his district.
