House GOP Delegation To Visit Jailed Insurrectionists

Congress Minutes reports:

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) told POLITICO on Tuesday night that their aides are working to set up a congressional delegation to visit individuals jailed on Jan. 6. Greene — a member of the Oversight Committee — would lead the trip, which would not be limited to panel members.

“We have jurisdiction over Washington, D.C., and there are some members in our conference that want to visit the jail to check on the prisoners, the inmates,” Comer said in a brief interview. He added that they were trying to “work out an arrangement” to let lawmakers “tour the conditions” of the jail where Jan. 6-related detentions are occurring.
