The pro-Trump Conservative Treehouse rages:
Timing is everything and the timing is simultaneously transparent and inappropriate. Today the Florida Senate scheduled a change via committee vote of the “Resign to Run” law for next Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 2:00pm. The intent of the change is almost certainly to permit Governor Ron DeSantis to formally announce his 2024 candidacy without having to resign his job as governor. The committee vote is scheduled for the same date as Trump traveling to Manhattan for his arraignment.
This move has long been expected, but the timing is indeed interesting. As this writing no sponsor is attached to the bill.
Hell of a time to let people know you’re going to change the resign-to-run law. pic.twitter.com/65qCiSL4AF

DeSantis has been in flagrant violation of Florida law while campaigning across the country, even planning trips overseas to sign Florida-specific legislation.

The move, although anticipate with those familiar with DeSantis’ thirst for control, is at risk to be lost in the news cycle because of the unprecedented indictment of Trump.
So don’t let this move to steal more power and keep his death-grip on Florida go unanswered.
