ADL: Kanye West Has Inspired Violence And Vandalism

Rolling Stone reports:

A new report by the Anti-Defamation League released Monday catalogs dozens of acts of vandalism, harassment and intimidation organized under the “Ye is right” slogan. “Kanye West’s repeated antisemitic remarks – and his dredging up some of the worst anti-Jewish tropes imaginable — are inspiring people to commit real-world acts of hate,” says Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL’s CEO.

The report documents a spate of hate-speech vandalism from coast to coast. The Kanye-inspired graffitos included “Defcon III” scrawled on a university walkway in Wisconsin, the words “Kanye West is right” and “Kill All Jews” written on the wall of a California high school bathroom; a swastika and “I love Kanye” chalking at a high school in Florida, and “Kanye is Right” written on the welcome sign of an Orthodox synagogue in New York City.

A Jewish man in Central Park was roughted up in by an assailant who yelled “Fuck you, Jew!” and “Kanye 2024!” In Maryland, a Jewish man was assaulted in a grocery store by a group who shouted: “Yeah, do it for Kanye!”

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

One example is the “#YeIsRight” hashtag, which the report notes has trended on Twitter since Oct. 1 with more than 9,400 mentions using or referencing hashtags related to the slogan. It was also seen written in chalk on a sidewalk at the University of Alabama on Jan. 26, 2023.

Known extremist, white supremacist groups like the Groypers have organized a series of “Ye is right, change my mind” events, where members defend and employ Ye’s outbursts as a way to espouse their own Holocaust denial and Hitler praise.

The first event took place at Florida Atlantic University on Jan. 18, 2023, and doubled as an endorsement of Ye’s 2024 presidential campaign.

The Jerusalem Post reports:

In November in New York, someone texted a Jewish individual with a series of anonymous antisemitic text messages, the first of which was, “Kanye is right. F*** you [name redacted for privacy].” In addition, someone called a Jewish-owned restaurant in Los Angeles, asked for “the Kanye special” and then said, “Death to all the Jews.”

In addition, members of the Goyim Defense League, a group openly professing hatred of Jews, held a demonstration in Los Angeles in October 2022, displaying a banner that read “KANYE IS RIGHT ABOUT THE JEWS” while giving Nazi salutes.
