The Associated Press reports:
“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” cast member Jennifer Shah was sentenced Friday to six and a half years in prison. Judge Sidney Stein said Shah’s role on the RHOSLC played no role in his sentencing decision. “The character your client plays is simply a character,” Stein said. “The Real Housewives franchise involves role playing, editing. People should not confuse, and this court is not going to confuse, the character she plays on an entertainment show with the person I have before me.”
Fox News reports:
Shah was sentenced to 78 months after pleading guilty to committing wire fraud in a telemarketing scheme targeting the elderly. The “Real Housewives” star wore an all-camel outfit and sported a pant-suit, leopard print camel tie-neck blouse and poncho-coat with leopard-print stilettos. The courtroom was packed and filled with “Real Housewives” fans as they eagerly waited for the results of Shah’s sentencing. The DOJ initially requested a decade behind bars.
#UPDATE: The judge said Jen Shah will serve her prison sentence somewhere in the Texas area. She has to surrender on February 17. https://t.co/jGYoaC29b3
