DeSantis Seeks Grand Jury On Vaccine “Misconduct”

The Daily Beast reports:

With a dystopian backdrop of Zoom attendees and surrounded by anti-vax academics and state health officials, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis used a Tuesday roundtable discussion to call on Florida’s Supreme Court to impanel a grand jury to investigate alleged vaccine “misconduct” in the state.

“Today, I’m announcing a petition with the Supreme Court of Florida to impanel a statewide grand jury to investigate any and all wrongdoing in Florida with respect to COVID-19 vaccines. Our CDC, at this point, anything they put out, you just assume, at this point, that it’s not worth the paper it’s printed on,” DeSantis said.

Miami’s ABC affiliate reports:

“We’ll be able to get the data whether they want to give it or not,” DeSantis said. “In Florida, it is illegal to mislead and misrepresent, especially when you are talking about the efficacy of a drug.”

DeSantis noted that Florida recently “got $3.2 billion through legal action against those responsible for the opioid crisis. So, it’s not like this is something that’s unprecedented.” DeSantis said he expects to get approval for the statewide grand jury to be empaneled, likely in the Tampa Bay area.

“That will come with legal processes that will be able to get more information and to bring legal accountability to those who committed misconduct,” DeSantis said.
