Florida Politics reports:
Paul Renner has been christened House Speaker as Republicans prepare for two years of conservative control over Florida’s legislative agenda.
Taking the rostrum for the first time as Speaker on Tuesday, the Palm Coast Republican said his chamber is ready to deliver a bold agenda promoting economic strength and stymieing social movements in education and business.
Renner’s comments came during Organization Session, as officials, family members and dignitaries gathered to celebrate the new class of lawmakers. In the audience was Gov. Ron DeSantis, who will work with Renner and new Senate President Kathleen Passidomo to continue crafting a conservative vision for Florida.

Fla House Speaker @Paul_Renner says he’s willing to change state law during 2023 session so @GovRonDeSantis can run for president without having to resign. Called it a “good idea.”

There are conflicting legal opinions about current law but my ? dealt with DeSantis becoming the GOP nominee & qualifying for 2024 ballot. A term for president would run concurrent with a term for governor. Law could be changed to make it clear DeSantis remains gov if he loses

New Senate President Kathleen Passidomo @Kathleen4SWFL says it would be an honor to have someone from Fla running for president and agrees with Renner it would be good idea to change law

Are you sure they aren’t trying to create a law whereby he can serve as Governor and President concurrently? Because this legislature will do anything he asks.
