9 To 5 Mac reports:
In the latest development at Twitter, Elon Musk has taken to his social platform to share that Apple has “mostly stopped advertising.” Along with the announcement, he implied in his short tweet that the decision makes the iPhone maker an opponent of free speech
It comes after a series of events have led to speculation around whether Apple and Google would be in a position where they block Twitter from their app stores. Over the weekend, Musk said “I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone.”

.@elonmusk, you continue to show your ignorance about free speech. Twitter has nothing to do with free speech. Study up man. And btw, Apple’s decision is all about freedom. You’re free to do what you want with Twitter, and Apple is free to no longer advertise. Freedom, rite Elon? https://t.co/nUza203cgB

New definition of “free speech”: paying to advertise on Elon Musk’s personal platform!
I continue to be amazed at Musk’s strategy of insulting and demeaning Twitter employees, users, and advertisers. This will make for quite the HBS Case Study in years to come. https://t.co/do17n4yFNj

I don’t think that’s how advertising works. Crazy that a major CEO doesn’t know this. https://t.co/oTuoUXlW70

I realize this is a difficult concept, but there’s literally *nothing* about “free speech” that *requires* a private corporation to advertise on platforms amplifying messages with which they disagree.
If free speech is anything, it’s the right of that corporation to *not* do so. https://t.co/afunDJ5PyG
