The Orlando Sentinel reports:
Thousands of Floridians are under evacuation orders as a strengthening Tropical Storm Nicole is forecast to become Hurricane Nicole before making landfall on Florida’s east coast early Thursday morning, and hurricane warnings are now in place.
As of the 4 p.m. NHC advisory Tuesday, Nicole is located about 285 miles northeast of the northwestern Bahamas and 420 miles east of Melbourne Beach, Florida up now to 65 mph sustained winds and moving west at 10 mph.
Volusia County made mandatory evacuation orders effective at 10 a.m. Wednesday and need to be completed by 4 p.m. The order applies to all residents east of the Intracoastal Waterway.

I was wondering why the Palm Beach County mandatory evacuation of barrier islands (Zone B) for potential hurricane Nicole was not until 7:00 am tomorrow. Someone didn’t want to cancel the big party at Mar-a-Lago I guess.
