The Fort Myers News-Press reports:
Outgoing U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn, who currently represents the 11th Congressional district in western North Carolina, has bought a $1.1 million home in Cape Coral, according to the Lee County Property Appraiser’s records.
It is not clear if Cawthorn has any specific connection to Cape Coral. He did post a video to social media on Oct. 7 flying over the then-destroyed Sanibel Causeway and proclaiming his support for the hurricane-battered community.
If Cawthorn makes Southwest Florida his new permanent home, he might have a chance at reigniting his political career back up. However, he will need to physically be in North Carolina for upcoming court dates. He is set to appear on Jan. 13 on a charge of carrying a loaded gun while going through airport security.

Southwest Florida may be getting a new resident with some national exposure.
