Youth Pastor Sentenced To 4 To 17 Years For Child Rape

A Lititz man who has worked as a youth pastor will spend at least four and a half years but up to 17 years in state prison, a Lancaster County judge ruled Monday.

55-year-old Shane E. Richardson was convicted of aggravated indecent assault of a person younger than 16, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor and indecent assault of a person younger than 16 after a four-day trial in June.

“He never expressed remorse or acknowledgment,” Assistant District Attorney Amy Muller said at the end of the proceeding. “He’s more concerned about his reputation than what he did to [the victims].” Richardson will have to register as a lifetime sex offender.
