“Rape And Reuse” Pastor Gets 16 Years For Child Porn

Green Bay’s Fox affiliate reports:

A former pastor was sentenced Monday to 16 years in prison for possession of child pornography charges. Rick Haberland, 49, was convicted of four counts of possession of child pornography.

He was also placed on extended supervision for 16 years. He was also placed on the sex offender registry. The sentence was extended by another 100 days for a conviction of methamphetamine possession.

Most recently, Haberland was the pastor of Oneida United Methodist Church, according to sheriff’s officials. He previously served at New Hope United Methodist Church in De Pere.

The Roys Report reports:

Messages in Haberland’s online accounts indicated he preferred “less than legal” children. A profile found on his phone also stated that his personal motto was “molest, abuse, rape & reuse.”

Haberland admitted to setting up videoconference meetings to view child sexual abuse material, according to the criminal complaint.

Haberland’s appointment to Oneida UMC ended the day he was arrested, Wisconsin UMC spokesman Dan Schwerin told TRR. Schwerin said Haberland’s ministry license has also been revoked.
