The Arizona Republic reports:
Elections officials continue to count ballots from Tuesday’s primary election, and those that are slowing down the results are mostly ones that people dropped off at the polls.
Numbers released Wednesday evening showed a small increase in votes for both Kari Lake and Karrin Taylor Robson as they vie for the GOP nomination for governor.
Likewise, Democratic candidates for secretary of state added to their totals, but not enough to seal the election for either Reginald Bolding or Adrian Fontes.
The Associated Press reports:
Lake claimed her campaign was “already detecting some stealing going on” in her own race, but she repeatedly refused to provide any evidence for the claim. She said Tuesday night that changing election laws was her top priority.
“This is why we’re in this race,” Lake said. “This is why we have this movement right here.” Robson, whose housing developer husband is one of the state’s richest men, mostly self-financed her campaign.
Lake declared victory Tuesday night.
Maricopa County released about 5,000 additional ballot results in the governor’s race Wednesday night, but there are roughly 90,000 ballots left to count. https://t.co/DPQq07jbUh
