Cultist Rep Makes Runoff For Open OK Senate Seat

Oklahoma City’s ABC News affiliate reports:

Rep. Markwayne Mullin and former state Rep. T.W. Shannon are projected to compete in a runoff for an open U.S. Senate seat later this year. Mullin will go head-to-head against Shannon (17.3 percent of the vote), who sits in second place among a pool of 13 candidates, in the runoff.

As a state Representative, Shannon served as Oklahoma’s first Black Speaker of the House.

Tuesday’s primary election is a result of longtime U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe announcing his retirement. Inhofe, 87, announced his retirement from the Senate back in February. He has served in the Senate for 28 years and will continue to do so through the end of December.

Mullin last appeared on JMG when he introduced a bill to expunge Trump’s second impeachment for inciting the Capitol riot.

Mullin, a former MMA fighter, appeared on JMG in September 2021 when he threatened US Embassy staff who objected to his mission to personally rescue five US citizens in Afghanistan.

Finishing dead last in the Senate primary was scandal-plagued former EPA chief Scott Pruitt with 5%.
