Harrisburg’s NBC News affiliate reports:
Jake Corman is ending his Pennsylvania gubernatorial campaign and endorsing fellow Republican Lou Barletta for governor. “It’s time for me to step aside and support someone who can win in the fall,” Corman, the president pro tempore of the state Senate, said Thursday.
Corman said Republicans have an opportunity to win against Josh Shapiro, the presumptive Democratic nominee. He asked other GOP gubernatorial candidates to consider getting behind one Republican. Corman pointed out that his name will still be on the ballot, but asked supporters to vote for Barletta instead.

The move comes amid reports that Republican leaders are “plotting an 11th-hour plan” to stop state Sen. Doug Mastriano from capturing the nomination.
