Florida GOP Rep Calls Dem Sit-In Over Racist US House Map Worse Than Capitol Riot, Calls For Felony Charges

The Tampa Bay Times reports:

As House Democrats shouted them down and held an unprecedented hourlong sit-in in protest of the congressional redistricting map Thursday in the Florida Capitol, House Republicans turned to social media to express their displeasure.

“House Democrats are staging an insurrection on the House floor to obstruct the democratic process. Shameful,” said Rep. Spencer Roach, a Fort Myers Republican, in a tweet.

Rep. Blaise Ingoglia, a Spring Hill Republican, posted that Florida now needed “a 4/21 committee” and tweeted an image that read: “Marked safe from Democratic protests today.”

Mediaite reports:

Florida State Rep. Randy Fine (R) told a local television program that a peaceful protest by Democratic legislators was “far worse than what happened on in Washington on January 6.” (Just wait, it gets dumber.)

“Worse? How so?” WPLG’s Michael Putney interjected, clearly surprised by Fine’s take, as his co-anchor Glenna Milberg tilted her head with an incredulous expression on her face.

Oh, wait. Fine wasn’t done, claiming that “21 million Floridians were disenfranchised because of sedition on the part of these Democrats.” He declared the Democrats had “absolutely broke the law” and it was a second-degree felony.

Fine appeared on JMG this weekend when he threatened to defund the Special Olympics and called a local school board member a “whore” because she’d been invited to fundraiser and he was not.

Fine is also the sponsor of the bill that stripped Disney’s self-governing status. His family owns annual passes to the “woke” theme park giant.
