Anti-Vax Trucker Convoy Assembles Outside Of DC

CNN reports:

Convoy groups led by American truckers are making their way toward the nation’s capital to demand an end to all Covid-19 mandates and restrictions.

The protesters, with members coming from at least three individual convoy groups, are expected to arrive in Washington, DC, throughout the upcoming weekend.

Organizers told CNN the protest will be tame and “lawful,” and the group has no plan to mimic Canada with roadblocks, clashes, or other disruptions.

Ahead of an 8 p.m. Friday rally, truckers who spoke with The Daily Beast all had different ideas on their Saturday plans, and no one knew who was in charge of the overall convoy or what exactly they would be doing come morning as they headed in the direction of D.C.

While entering D.C. was very much on the table for many truckers, one convoy member told The Daily Beast that he felt even going near the Capital Beltway was a “trap.” Despite truckers saying otherwise, on the convoy’s website, the semi-organized group claims: “We are NOT going into DC proper.”
