Appeals Court: Loomer Owes Muslim Group $125,000

Via press release from CAIR:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed a judge’s affirmation of a Florida ruling ordering far-right Islamophobic conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer and her company Illoominate Media to pay CAIR almost $125,000 in attorney’s fees and costs stemming from a lawsuit falsely claiming the Muslim civil rights organization colluded with Twitter to have her banned. Yesterday, United States District Judge Rodolfo A. Ruiz II said Loomer owed $123,761.65 to CAIR and its Florida chapter, plus $661.72 in costs.

The Daily Beast reports:

“They won’t get a dime from me. I’ve been living the ‘you’ll own nothing and be happy’ lifestyle for years, before COVID made it trendy,” she blared in a Telegram post on Thursday evening. “Thanks to cancel culture!” In a statement to The Daily Beast, Loomer said her legal team will appeal the denial to her appeal. The far-right activist sued CAIR over her belief that the group played a role in getting her banned from Twitter.

Below is her response to the Daily Beast.
