Novak Djokovic faces possible deportation from Australia after the country’s immigration minister canceled the unvaccinated tennis star’s visa for a second time on Friday, citing public health. It could end the Serb’s bid for a record 21st major title at the Australian Open tournament, which starts Monday.

Djokovic’s lawyers moved swiftly to apply for an injunction that would prevent him from being forced to leave the country.

In a court hearing hours after the decision was announced, they said the star had not been taken into immigration detention. Lawyers for the Australian government said they would not deport Djokovic until the legal challenge was resolved.
