McCarthy Claims He Pressured Gosar On Threat Video

Politico reports:

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy says he called Rep. Paul Gosar after learning about an anime video the Arizona Republican posted last week that depicted violence against two prominent Democrats. After the call, Gosar put out a statement dismissing that the video was intended to encourage violence.

The GOP leader wouldn’t say whether he directly urged Gosar to take down the video, which showed the murder of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and use of a sword against President Joe Biden.

“He took the video down and made a statement that he doesn’t support violence to anybody,” McCarthy said Monday afternoon. “I called him when I heard about the video. And he made a statement.”
