Trump Sues To Block Docs Sought By Riot Committee

The Washington Post reports:

Former president Donald Trump is suing to block the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol from receiving records it has requested regarding his role and the role of his aides in the events of that day. The lawsuit argues that the records request is overly broad and has no legislative purpose.

“The Committee’s request amounts to nothing less than a vexatious, illegal fishing expedition openly endorsed by [President] Biden and designed to unconstitutionally investigate President Trump and his administration,” the suit reads. “Our laws do not permit such an impulsive, egregious action against a former President and his close advisors.”
