Hundreds Of Covidiots Rally At Oregon State Capitol

The Salem Statesman Journal reports:

An estimated 1,000 people rallied at the Oregon Capitol Saturday to protest COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates. Protesters identified themselves as health care workers, teachers, emergency services workers and state employees. Gov. Kate Brown has ordered those groups to be vaccinated by Oct. 18. Rally-goers lined both sides of Court Street in front of the Capitol building, and filled the first block of the mall during about two hours of speeches, then marched through downtown Salem.

Pastor Lew Wootan, of The River Church in Salem, said he’s helping organize a statewide work walkout on Sept. 24 to protest the vaccine mandate. Participants will be invited to a BBQ in Pacific City that day. “If we can get 10,000 to 20,000 people to do this, we will shut down the whole state,” Wootan said. The rally was organized by Oregonians for Medical Freedom, a political action committee that works to protect vaccine exemptions.
