“Everyone thinks they have all the answers when it comes to moderating, but Gab is the one with Congress down our backs and the nation state of Germany threatening us along with the entire mainstream press, activist groups with war chests in the hundreds of millions, and other bad actors attacking us constantly.

“Do you want this website to stay online or do you want to be able to threaten and incite violence by somehow claiming it’s ‘free speech’ (it’s not.)

“I want Gab to stay online, so we are taking an abundance of caution especially during these uncertain times. We aren’t perfect, but we do our best with the resources we have available to us.” – Gab CEO Andrew Torba, in a message to site members.
