Report: Maddow Reaches Multi-Year Deal With MSNBC

MSNBC’s most popular primetime anchor is staying with the company. After months of talks with a host of other networks, Rachel Maddow has opted to stay put thanks to a new multi-year contract that will include developing new projects with MSNBC and parent company NBCUniversal, according to a person with direct knowledge of the negotiations.

Maddow hired super-agent Ari Emanuel to negotiate a new deal after months of considering options from would-be suitors, in what would have been a blow to the network. The Daily Beast had reported she was considering leaving the network when her current contract ended early next year. Maddow was reported to be mulling starting her own media ventures.
