Forbes reports:

A federal judge in Michigan sanctioned pro-Trump attorneys including Sidney Powell and Lin Wood that alleged widespread election fraud Wednesday, ruling the attorneys should face a range of punishments—including undergoing legal education and potentially facing disbarment—for their lawsuit that attempted to overturn President Joe Biden’s win in the state.

The Michigan sanctions motion was one of a number of consequences that Powell and her allies now face for their post-election litigation and fraud claims. Powell and her co-counsel are also facing a separate sanctions request in Wisconsin and a disbarment effort from Michigan state officials that’s separate from their sanctions request.

Attorneys in Arizona have also filed an ethics complaint against Powell, Wood and other attorneys involved in her litigation in that state, and Wood faces an investigation from the State Bar of Georgia that could result in him being disbarred.

“This lawsuit represents a historic and profound abuse of the judicial process,” U.S. District Judge Linda Parker wrote in a scathing 110-page ruling. “It is one thing to take on the charge of vindicating rights associated with an allegedly fraudulent election. It is another to take on the charge of deceiving a federal court and the American people into believing that rights were infringed, without regard to whether any laws or rights were in fact violated. This is what happened here.”

More than half a year ago on Dec. 7, Judge Parker decisively rejected Powell and Wood’s effort to overturn President Joe Biden’s victory in Michigan in a scathing, 36-page ruling. “Plaintiffs ask this court to ignore the orderly statutory scheme established to challenge elections and to ignore the will of millions of voters,” Parker wrote. “This, the Court cannot, and will not, do.” “The People have spoken,” she added.
