Third Christian Summer Camp Sees COVID Outbreak

Wichita’s ABC News affiliate reports:

With 13 COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks and 23 overall, an AGK Ministries summer camp has been declared a cluster by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

The KDHE and the Butler County Health Department are investigating the church camp that took place from June 21 to June 25 at the Wheat State Retreat Center in Augusta. Health officials are urging anyone who attended the camp during that time to get tested for COVID-19.

“Even though kids have a decreased risk of having serious COVID, it doesn’t mean they get off scot-free. We have plenty of children who are experiencing long haul symptoms” said Dr. Amy Seery, a pediatrician with Ascension Via Christi.
