NY Extends Sidewalk Dining Rule For Another Year

The New York Daily News reports:

Here’s to another year of drinking and dining al fresco! Gov. Cuomo signed a bill into law Wednesday that allows restaurants and bars statewide to use sidewalks, parking spots and other municipal spaces for outdoor food and beverage service for another year.

The bill, which breezed through the state legislature last month, is meant to give New York’s hard-hit hospitality industry a helping hand as it continues to recover from the economic damage inflicted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Outdoor dining has been widely popular in New York, especially during the peak of the pandemic last year, when indoor service was prohibited.
