A double lung transplant later, a 43-year-old Texas man who didn’t think he needed a COVID vaccination is now hoping others like him will get inoculated so they, too, don’t learn the hard way that the pandemic that has killed 600,000 Americans is serious.
“If I knew what I know now, I would have definitely went through with the vaccination,” Joshua Garza told ABC News. According to the Sugarland, Texas, gas and oil industry worker, he had an opportunity to get vaccinated in January and took a pass. Later that month, he contracted the deadly virus.
