As the city begins to reopen, Senator Chuck Schumer is calling on the MTA to resume its 24-7 subway service immediately. “People work at 2, 3, and 4 in the morning, but subways aren’t working at this point, at 2, 3, 4 in the morning,” Schumer said at a Sunday briefing.
“Restaurants and bar restrictions are being lifted, that means last call for New York people will be 4 a.m.” said Zachary Arcidiacono, Train Operators Division Chair of TWU Local 100. “We need to bring back that 24/7 subway service both for the patrons and for the workers.”
