Pastor Of Anti-LGBT Church Arrested For Child Porn

The Winston-Salem Journal reports:

A Forsyth County minister has been arrested on a child-pornography charge, according to a news release from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. T. Elliott Welch, 34, of Stonewell Lane in Tobaccoville was charged with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. An arrest warrant alleges that Welch copied material showing a nude girl, who appeared to be between the ages of 10 and 12, being raped by a man. Welch is the senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Stanleyville.

The Friendly Atheist points out that the church’s website is loaded with anti-LGBT declarations.

An excerpt:

Any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God (Leviticus 18:22-30; Romans 1:16-32; 1 Corinthians 7:1-2; Hebrews 13:4).

To preserve the function and integrity of the church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the church members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by the church in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, must abide by and agree to this Statement on Marriage and Sexuality and conduct themselves accordingly (Ephesians 5:25-27).
