Likely Cheney Successor Flogs Big Lie On Bannon Show

The Hill reports:

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) appeared on former Trump White House aide Steve Bannon’s show this week to promise that if she is selected to serve as the House GOP’s conference chair, she will make uniting the party a priority.

“My vision is to run with support from the president [Trump] and his coalition of voters, which was the highest number of votes ever won by a Republican nominee,” Stefanik reportedly told Bannon on his “War Room” podcast on Thursday.

CNN reports:

Stefanik, whom Trump endorsed Wednesday for the job of House Republican conference chair, supported a lawsuit that tried to get the Supreme Court to invalidate Joe Biden’s victory.

In December, Stefanik was one of 126 House Republicans to sign on to an amicus brief in support of a Republican lawsuit that asked the Supreme Court to toss out Biden’s win. On January 6, Stefanik was one of 147 Republicans to vote against certifying Biden’s electoral votes from at least one state.

In a video statement she posted on January 4, Stefanik said that “tens of millions of Americans are rightly concerned that the 2020 election featured unprecedented voting irregularities.”

From Trump’s endorsement:

Liz Cheney is a warmongering fool who has no business in Republican Party Leadership. We want leaders who believe in the Make America Great Again movement, and prioritize the values of America First. Elise Stefanik is a far superior choice, and she has my COMPLETE and TOTAL Endorsement for GOP Conference Chair. Elise is a tough and smart communicator!
