CA To Give Away Millions In “Vax For The Win” Lottery

California is hoping cash prizes will lure more people to roll up their sleeves and get COVID-19 shots. Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a $116.5 million vaccine incentive program Thursday to motivate more people to get inoculated leading up to June 15, when the economy is slated to fully reopen.

California residents who have been vaccinated are already entered for cash prizes, and those who haven’t been can get inoculated for the chance to receive a $50 card and win cash prizes. “You don’t have to register to do this as is the case in other states,” Newsom said. “You’re automatically registered.”

Get vaccinated as soon as possible to be eligible for a $50 incentive card and other cash prizes. We want to thank you for helping us beat the pandemic in California!

It’s our biggest “thank you” yet to Californians who have received their COVID-19 vaccine. Ten winners will be selected on June 15 to receive $1.5 million each — prizes totaling $15 million! All Californians who have had at least one COVID-19 dose will automatically be entered.

Getting more Californians vaccinated is how we come roaring back from the pandemic. We’re pulling out all the stops to motivate everyone to get vaccinated by June 15.
