CHATTER AWAY: Overnight Open Thread

Eurovision Extra reports:

We are sad to report that Patrick Juvet, who represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1973, has passed away. Juvet was 70 years old. His agent confirmed the news to AFP today. Juvet sang Je vais me marier, Marie. He eventually placed twelfth in the competition.

Proper success followed later in the 1970s. He focused on disco music, most notably alongside composer Jean-Michael Jarre. It led to the biggest success of his career, the 1977 single Où sont les femmes? In these years, Juvet also became an icon for bisexuality.

Some here are likely more familiar with Juvet’s giant 1978 gay club hit, I Love America, which can still be heard at oldies t-dances and recently saw new life due to being heavily-sampled by Full Intention.
