Atlanta’s NBC News affiliate reports:
Cherokee County Sheriff’s Capt. Jay Baker said the suspected gunman who killed eight people Tuesday during shootings at spas in the Atlanta area appeared to have targeted the locations because he was angry at the “porn industry.”
“He was pretty much fed up, at the end of his rope,” Baker said at a news conference Wednesday. “He sees these locations as something that allows him to go to these places, and it’s a temptation to him that he wanted to eliminate.”
Baker said 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long “had a sexual addiction.” He also told investigators that he planned to go to Florida to commit similar crimes, Baker said. Baker said authorities do not believe the attack was racially motivated.
