NJ Gym Offers Free Memberships To Vaccine Refusers

The Atlantic City Press reports:

Atilis Gym owner Ian Smith, who infamously defied the state’s COVID-19 restrictions last year, may begin incentivizing vaccination refusal at his business. Smith tweeted Tuesday that the gym in Bellmawr, Camden County, will give out free memberships to anyone who doesn’t receive a COVID-19 vaccine. The offer, according to the tweet, is a counter to Krispy Kreme’s recent offering of free donuts to those who do receive one.

NewJersey.com reports:

Atilis Gym owner Ian Smith has been temporarily banned from American Airlines after refusing to wear a mask on his flight from CPAC in Orlando. Smith and business partner Frank Trumbetti have drawn headlines and heavy fines for defying Gov. Phil Murphy’s executive orders when opening a gym was prohibited during the first months of the pandemic. The ban is in effect until face coverings are no longer required on commercial flights.

As I’ve previously reported, Smith has become a folk hero to Fox News, winning praise from Fox hosts after literally kicking down the boarded up doors to his gym after the state shut him down for defying COVID regulations. Last July, Fox & Friends exultantly reported live from Smith’s gym during a protest at which white supremacists waved the flag of the Three Percenters militia. In 2007, Smith pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in a drunk driving crash that killed a 19 year-old man. He was sentenced in June 2008 to five years in prison.
