New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday said he would not resign due to the allegations against him, saying during a phone call with reporters that resigning due to allegations would be “anti-Democratic.” “I’m not going to resign because of allegations,” Cuomo told reporters Sunday. “The premise of resigning because of allegations is actually anti-democratic.”
Cuomo will be subject to an independent investigation conducted by New York Attorney General Letitia James who last week announced that Cuomo’s office had issued a referral allowing her to conduct such an investigation. “There is no way I resign,” Cuomo said Sunday. “Let’s do the attorney general, let’s get the findings and go from there.”
