The Washington Post reports:
Hundreds of Trump supporters stormed through metal barricades at the back of the Capitol building about 1 p.m. Wednesday, running past security guards and breaking fences.
The crowd made it to the Capitol steps but didn’t get inside the building, where Congress is meeting to count electoral college votes for President-elect Joe Biden. Police held back the group as protesters chanted “USA, USA!”
Protesters then scaled the construction structures. At least two people were tackled by Capitol Police and security officials. Law enforcement officials arrived with riot shields.

Everyone is being evacuated from Cannon as well (me included). I spoke w/ a Capitol police officer on my way out who told me a few unidentified packages have been found. He wouldn’t tell me anything else. https://t.co/qWleoYtx8L
