President-elect Joe Biden is departing his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, for the final time before he is sworn in as the 46th president of the United States at noon on Wednesday.

The president-elect, who is expected to deliver remarks, and future first lady Dr. Jill Biden are set to attend a send-off event at the Major Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III National Guard /Reserve Center before they leave for Washington.

After arriving in D.C., Mr. Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are scheduled to speak at the Lincoln Memorial’s reflecting pool to honor those who have died due to COVID-19.
