Reuters reports:
The chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Rules Committee said he expected the article of impeachment against President Donald Trump to get to the House floor for a vote on Wednesday and predicted it will pass.
“It is important that we act, and it is important that we act in a very serious and deliberative manner,” Representative Jim McGovern told CNN in an interview on Monday. “We expect this up on the floor on Wednesday. And I expect that it will pass.”
Do not allow your focus to center solely on impeachment. Impeachment must happen only because @VP and the cabinet have not initiated the 25th Amendment to remove the president immediately. That is what *should* happen after Wednesday, and we must not lose sight of that.

Lots to think about in this Playbook Q&A with Rep. Jim McGovern, who will play a key role in impeachment proceedings. He chairs the House Rules Committee, which is “probably the only committee that will discuss this matter before it goes to the floor.”https://t.co/ld2J8PW3OB

The House will seek to take up a resolution from Rep. Jamie Raskin on Monday urging Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office. If blocked, the House would consider impeachment.
